The second annual APALSA Quizzo event packed in dozens of Temple Law contestants last Thursday, March 20, at McFadden’s in Northern Liberties.
Assistant Dean of Career Planning, Melissa Lennon, lent a hand in the festivities, while Assistant Dean for Graduate and International Programs, Louis Thompson, did another sizzling job as Quizzo MC. The Quizzo event organizer, Pong Chulirashaneekorn, was also present to keep the event moving forward and to mingle with the crowd.
The Quizzo questions covered a variety of topics including Oscar fashions, law movie quotes, astronomical phenomena, current events and even mathematical theory. (Question: How many law students got the math question right? You said zero? Very good. How did you know?)
The event featured several cheap drinks and appetizers, as well as a significant lack of tables and chairs to accommodate the eager alcoholics - um, contestants that is. Consequently two teams were inspired to name themselves “This Place Needs More Chairs” and “We Don’t Need a Table.” Despite the lack of furniture, the event seemed thoroughly enjoyed by all.
After four electrifying rounds of Quizzo, third place went to “Just a Couple of Paramours,” second place went to “Just the Tip,” and winning first place was “75 cent.” The three teams won bar tabs at McFaddens for $75, $100 and $125 respectively.
